1. Antigua

If you are looking to spend the majority of your holiday on the beach, then this is definitely the destination for you!

Antigua is known for its beautiful beaches, and you are certainly spoilt for choice with 365 beaches on the island. That means it would take you an entire year to see all of them if you went to a different beach each day! However to make your life a little easier, Dickenson Bay, with its gorgeous white soft sand and turquoise-hued water is a must visit.

There are many luxurious adult-only hotels all over the island, so you can fully relax and enjoy yourselves without any children running around. Along with the adult-only hotels, there are many opportunities for spa days, fine dining and romantic evening meals for two on the beach under the stars.

Our recommendations for romance:

Hotel: Cocobay Resort – Private beachfront cottages with unbelievable views.

Beach: Five Islands Village Beach – Quiet, quaint and perfect for sunset strolls.

Restaurant: Sheer Rocks – Fine dining at an exceptional seafood restaurant perched on a seacliff. Enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail in their plunge pool.

2. Aruba

Just like any other Caribbean island, Aruba has many beautiful beaches for you to explore together. Some of those are very private and secluded making it feel as though you have the whole beach to yourselves. Head to the remote Boca Prins beach – renowned for its sunsets – and you may well be the only ones there.

There are also many natural pools around the island that are perfect for relaxing in. They are mostly surrounded by rock and volcanic stone and are filled with water from the ocean. A 2.5km walk from Shete will take you to Conchi – one of the prettiest natural pools on Aruba.

To feel the full romantic effects of these pools, the best time to visit is early in the morning or later on in the evening when they are less busy. Visiting during those times could also line up with sunrise or sunset, which will make the whole experience even better.

Many resorts on this island also offer candlelit dinners on the beach, which is possibly one of the most romantic things you can do on any trip to our best Caribbean islands for couples.

Our recommendations for romance:

Hotel: Aruba Ocean Villas – Aruba’s only overwater bungalows.

Beach: Boca Prins – Secluded beach set in a stunning national park.

Restaurant: Carte Blanche – Fine dining in a cozy intimate atmosphere.

3. Barbados

Barbados is considered to be one of the world’s most romantic destinations, and for good reason too. Everything about this island is out of this world, and there’s so many different things that you and your partner can enjoy together.

The beaches are exquisite. However, there is so much more to this island than just the coastline, from the fantastic food to many activities. There is never a dull moment in Barbados. (Related: The Best Things to do in Barbados).

A popular thing for couples to do while in Barbados is to visit glamorous lounges for cocktails. Enjoy the sunset on the horizon as the two of you enjoy the world’s most romantic date night.

Catamaran cruises are also very popular amongst couples visiting Barbados. These cruises give you a different look at the island, as they stop off at all the beautiful hidden coves and bays. Try Tiami Catamaran Cruises for the chance to swim with sea turtles. Just make sure you take a great underwater camera with you – like this one.

Our recommendations for romance:

Hotel: Sandy Lane Hotel – An iconic Barbados hotel surrounded by trees and beside a romantic secluded bay.

Beach: Gibbes Beach – A rare undeveloped beach in Barbados with crystal clear water, a peaceful atmosphere, and superb sunsets.

Restaurant: The Tides – Fine dining by the sea. A potential Michelin Star restaurant in the making.

4. Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman has many different things on offer for couples visiting. But one of the things you must do is kayak through the mystical bioluminescent bay here! This is a very unique experience and is something that is exclusive to this island in particular.

This incredible bay lights up at night because of tiny single-celled organisms called dinoflagellates that emit light as they move in the water, causing the ocean to glow. Witnessing this first hand is incredibly special, and something you have to do with your loved one. You can find this magical bay on the north side of Grand Cayman

Little Cayman is possibly the most romantic of the three Cayman Islands, despite it being the smallest. There’s lots for you to enjoy here, such as a relaxed diving session, fishing, hiking or just laying back under the warmth of the sun on the many white sand beaches.

Even the accommodation is beautiful. There’s just a few beach cottages on the oceanfront for you and your love to stay in. Romance is always in the air in the Caymans.

Our recommendations for romance:

Hotel: The Ritz-Carlton – Luxury hotel with spectacular oceanfront rooms.

Beach: Bioluminescent Bay – Swimming or kayaking through the glowing ocean is a one-of-a-kind experience almost completely unique to Grand Cayman.

Cozumel is an island with a rich culture and a great deal of history. So if that’s something that interests you then this is certainly an island worth visiting. Not only that, but it is also a great Caribbean island for couples to visit as well!

There is something for everybody on this pretty little island. If the two of you are adventurous types, then you can enjoy many different things together, such as scuba diving -this island is one of the best in the world for this.

Playa El Cielo with its soft white sand and gorgeous turquoise water is an exceptional place to snorkel and sunbathe. The water is unbelievably clear, warm and shallow, and this spot is the perfect place to find colorful reef fish and huge starfish.

You can also paddle board together and even go on a paddle board tour! For something different, go paddle boarding at night which is a whole other kind of beautiful. Passion Island in Cozumel is probably our favorite place to paddleboard in the world.

But for those couples who just want to sit back and relax then this island is great for you too! There are so many resorts dotted around Cozumel where you can enjoy a couples massage, cocktails by the pool, and a wonderful dinner by the ocean. (Related: Cancun or Cozumel).

Cozumel isn’t a well known Caribbean island, but this Mexican destination is easily one of our favorite Caribbean islands for couples.

Curaçao is such a beautiful and relaxing place. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway.

This island is home to some of the most romantic beaches in the Caribbean. One of them is Boca Santa Cruz which is also known as Lover’s Beach! This beach isn’t very developed so it doesn’t attract big crowds, making it perfect to simply sit back and relax with a picnic and a bottle of wine.

For more adventurous couples, you can climb Mount Christoffel, which can then be followed by a nice couples massage at one of the luxury resorts here. If you do decide to tackle this 1240 ft mountain, we recommend starting your day early so you will have a stunning late morning view of the whole island!

Our recommendations for romance:

Hotel: Baoase Luxury Resort – Beautiful resort set on a palm-tree lined beach. Choose the ‘Romantic Pool Suite’.

Beach: Daaibooi Beach – This pretty little beach is situated in a secluded cove where sea turtles come to lay eggs. A great place to snorkel and picnic.

Restaurant: Nultwintig – Fine dining set on a beautiful seaside location. Romantic cozy interior and lovely outside dining area too.

7. Guadeloupe

This is one of the lesser-known Caribbean destinations, a hidden gem if you will, but that doesn’t mean Guadeloupe isn’t as beautiful as neighbouring islands.

Over recent years it has gained some popularity as more and more people are recognising its beauty. So, if you are looking to have a couple’s getaway on an island that is not overrun with other tourists, then this is one that you should definitely consider.

This island nation is made up of two large islands and three smaller ones, so there’s a lot to explore if that’s your thing.

There is so much for you to do, from sitting back and relaxing on the beach, to exploring the islands. There many different beaches to visit as well, so you can visit a new one every day! St Anne Beach with its pristine white sand and coconut trees is definitely one of the best though.

But, for those who would prefer to explore, then visit the Carbet Falls – these three pretty waterfalls are the perfect opportunity for your holiday pictures. Have a picnic beside the falls before taking a dip in the natural pool with your partner. Bliss.

Our recommendations for romance:

Hotel: Infiniti Blue – Bungalows with stunning seaside and countryside views, set amongst gorgeous lush gardens.

Beach: Ilet Caret – Tiny uninhabited island with a pristine beach and no resorts. Wonderful warm crystal clear water for swimming.

Restaurant: Sunset B – Cozy intimate restaurant with some of the best sunset views in the country.

8. Jamaica

There are great resorts all over Jamaica for couples to relax and ignore the outside world, giving you space to just focus on your relationship. Just like all of the other islands on our list of the best Caribbean islands for couples, there many beaches to die for here as well.

There are also some great adult-only hotels on the island, where the two of you can enjoy some well-deserved alone time. The majority of these resorts offer pampering experiences with spa packages included as part of your stay. They also offer things such as romantic meals on the beach where you have your own personal waiter! It’s hard to imagine a more intimate experience.

However, for those who want to do a little bit of exploring than you can do a great deal of things in Jamaica, such as dolphin-watching, swimming in the Blue Lagoon at Port Antonio, and hiking the famous waterfall at Dunns River Falls.

We also recommend enjoying the famous traditional island food here, such as jerk chicken, beef patties, curried goat, and so much more. Jamaica is also one of the cheapest island destinations in the Caribbean!

Our recommendations for romance:

Hotel: Half Moon Resort – An iconic Jamaican resort set in 400 acres which includes two miles of white sand beach.

Beach: Seven Mile Beach – Huge white sand beach that’s perfect for a romantic stroll with your feet in the water.

Restaurant: Sugar Mill Restaurant – Fine dining in one of the most intimate outside terraces we’ve come across in Jamaica.
