The Best Restaurants In Conwy: Food Worth Waiting For!

1. Signatures Restaurant

Delicious food, upscale interior, and the friendliest staff in town! Perfect for date night. Outdoor seating is available too!

If you’re looking for a great atmosphere, the most accommodating staff, and absolutely delicious food then you’re in for a real treat at Signatures Restaurant. This is one of the most popular restaurants in Conwy and is certainly worth a visit or two if you’re in the area.

With a stunningly elegant interior and lots of comfortable seating – including some outside – you’ll have plenty of places to settle in. So, let chefs Jimmy and Louise spoil you with their gastronomic creations!

If you’re going for the first time, we recommend trying their Trio of Lamb, Monkfish, and Fillet of Stone Bass for your entrees.

As for dessert, try their Sticky Toffee Pudding and pair it with a dessert wine, while you’re at it! Trust us, it’ll be the perfect end to a sublime meal.

Signatures Restaurant is closed on Monday and Tuesday and open all other days. Catch them from 12-2:30 pm for lunch and from 5-9 pm for dinner.

2. Watson’s Bistro

An iconic family-run restaurant that brings new recipes to an old part of town! Outdoor seating is available too.

Watson’s Bistro is a lovely Welsh restaurant owned by a local family in Conwy.

Not only is this place known for its unique takes on traditional Welsh recipes, but its also loved for its welcoming and cosy atmosphere. So, if you’re looking for an informal place to go and relax, but that still serves great food, then Watson’s your best bet!

Low-hanging wooden beams, old vintage wallpaper, and a traditional-looking restaurant will greet you but their food speaks a different story.

Watson’s brings such a unique balance to being modern yet rustic when it comes to their food, and we think you’ll love it – especially if you enjoy classic British flavors and local produce.

Locals always suggest trying their Haddock, Lamb, and Featherblade steak, but whatever you settle on make sure to have a look at their unique wine collection, and ask your server what to pair your meal with.

Watson’s Bistro is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but open all other days from 5:30 pm to 9 pm, making it more of a supper and dinner place.

3. Jalsa Tandoori Restaurant

One of the best Bangladeshi restaurants in Wales, and just 2 minutes away from Conwy Castle!

Sometimes having spicy Asian food, seasoned to perfection, is just what you need! And if you’re a fan of such flavors then Jalsa Tandoori Restaurant brings you the best Bangladeshi cuisine right in the heart of Wales!

Jalsa has a stylish interior and serves up some fantastic Asian classics, so it’s little surprise this place always seems to be full.

That’s not to say they won’t have room, because even during rush hours they seem to still find space.

If you’re new to Bangladeshi cuisine, then we’re sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how fragrant and tasty everything will be. In order to have a great first experience, we suggest trying one of their most popular dishes, which are their Tandoori Chicken, Seekh Kebab, and Fish Pakora.

Their Jalsa Special Saffron Biryani is a great addition to add to those if you want a rice-based dish in there!

This restaurant is closed on Monday, so make sure you don’t make plans then! It’s open all other days from 5 pm to 10 pm.

4. Lava Kitchen Conwy

The eatery has one-of-a-kind charm and character (think rustic vibes and knickknacks lining the walls) which is almost as different as the type of dining experience it offers.

As for the food, you pay for what you eat and choose what goes into your meal, from protein to spice to veggies, everything is up to you.

They have Brunch, Lunch, Afternoon tea, and Dinner times available, so pick whichever time suits you.

Lava Kitchen Conwy is closed Sunday to Tuesday and opens all other days from 5:30 pm to 10 pm. It’s ideal for a fun family dinner!

5. Upstairs at Anna’s

Upstairs with Anna’s is only 3 minutes from the castle and has arguably the best afternoon tea service in town!

Located right in the center of town, another fun dining experience awaits you at Upstairs at Anna’s.

Housed in an iconic and historic building that’s been a part of the town since the 1800s, you have a chance to explore the town’s humble beginnings when here, while also enjoying the best afternoon tea service in town!

If you haven’t indulged in a quintessential British afternoon tea yet, then trying the one they serve at Anna’s will make you a fan of the concept for life.

Their Afternoon tea is served from 12-4 pm, with tea, coffee, preserves, clotted cream, finger sandwiches, canapes, fresh cakes patisseries, and champagne! Doesn’t that sound delightful?

Apart from that, Anna’s is also known for its upscale and classy décor and amazing view of the town. Everything about the place will make you fall in love with Conwy and isn’t that just what we all want on vacation?

Upstairs at Anna’s is open from 9:30 am to 4 pm on weekdays and till 5 pm on weekends, so go whenever you want!

6. The Midland Street Café

Street food with a Spanish twist! Great for hanging out with friends or meeting up with family!

If you’re in the mood for more varied international cuisine, then The Midland Street Café is a great place to go, especially if you like Tapas or other global street snacks.

Not only is the food great here, but the staff are super friendly and the décor is fun!

This cafe’s use of colour just makes the place seem so funky! The pops of orange on the sofas and the floor, make it one of the quirkiest interiors we’ve seen in Conwy. They also have several seating options to choose from, whether you want a table or bar-style seating.

As for the food, locals love their Tapas selection, Cajun Potatoes, Midland Burgers, Teriyaki Wings, and Cinnamon Churros.

That is by no means everything they serve though, as they have a very comprehensive menu and it’ll take a few visits for you to truly taste everything. But those options are a good starting point.

The Midland Street Café is closed on Mondays but open all other days of the week from 11:30 am to 3 pm for lunch and from 5-8:45 pm for dinner!

7. The Galleon Fish and Chips

Classic British fish and chips served in a warm and welcoming restaurant in the center of town!

We definitely couldn’t end any list of restaurants in Conwy without having an eatery that celebrates one of the best British dishes – good old fish and chips! So, if you’ve been craving this classic then get your fix at The Galleon Fish and Chips!

The Galleon is a cute little restaurant, that sits in a convenient location.

Their interior has a very calming and relaxing vibe with it being done in all neutral colors and they also have 2 separate floors, so even during busy times, they can fit you in!

Plus, even if you aren’t a fish and chips fan, they have many more things that you can try too, so it’s worth paying a visit. Try their fish, their burgers (they have a veggie burger too!), and their pies and you’ll be feeling happy and full.

The Galleon is open all seven days a week usually from 12 noon to 8 pm.
