Our Top Eight Restaurants In Chestermere: Food Worth Waiting For!

1. Crazy Pasta

Italian restaurant specializing in homemade pasta served in a small, casual, and vibrant space

Consider yourself lucky if you happen to stumble across Crazy Pasta – Chef Carl Dupre’s gem of a restaurant, established in 2012.

He’s all about homemade pasta and sauces, and that’s what makes his dishes so fresh, vibrant, and sensational.

The venue itself is quite pleasant and bright too, with Victorian wallpapers, chandeliers, and casual seating for a relaxed dining experience. Within the restaurant is a store where you can find plenty of imported Italian goods and fresh pasta and sauces to take home and whip up your own creations.

But what makes dining here special is that you can build your own pasta!

Choose your preferred type – say fettuccine, cheese ravioli, gnocchi, or vegan/GF pasta – then select a sauce from the dozens of varieties they’ve got.

Throw in add-ons like meatballs, shrimp, or a whole chicken breast, and savor the homemade goodness of it.

Chef Carl also takes dietary restrictions very seriously and can create a dish according to your preference.

He’s also known for his creamy lasagna and homemade tiramisu, while the weekend breakfast spread of bacon and sausage-loaded portions of pasta and omelets with flatbread is worth checking out too.

Since everything is made-to-order here, you might have to wait a bit, but we guarantee it’s well worth it.

Find the place open every day from 11 am onwards, and 9 am onwards on Sundays.

2. Delhi Express

Family-run restaurant offering authentic Indian staples in a bright, modern, and casual setting

When craving fluffy naans and soulful curries, head towards Delhi Express – one of the most popular Indian restaurants in Chestermere and the surrounding region.

Owned and operated by a local family, they started as a humble takeout joint before news of their colorful delicious food spread. Now, they have two locations and offer a shiny and bright dining space to settle into at the Chestermere venue.

A squeaky clean red and black-themed interior with modern light fixtures makes it a pleasant and casual place to dine in, especially with the exceptionally hospitable owner and staff.

While being treated like royalty, you can pick from a vast menu of staples made with authentic Indian cooking techniques.

The ideal way to start is with a plate of chole bhature or some delightful little pani puri. The mains have everything you could dream of – tikka, butter chicken, lamb seekh kebab, aloo gobhi, and over a dozen different Hakka Chinese noodles.

The curries are fragrant and fiery, the meats are charred and perfectly seasoned, and the bread stretchy and fluffy. We couldn’t ask for more.

They’re also very accommodating about dietary restrictions, so everyone and anyone can savor their delectable food.

Find them open every day from 3 pm onwards, and do remember to make reservations to avoid waiting on weekend nights.

3. Van Son

Popular spot with Vietnamese delicacies served in a sleek and casual dining area

Owned by a big family with a passion for Vietnamese cuisine, Van Son is one of the busiest restaurants in Calgary and Chestermere.

And we think that even if you’re familiar with these flavors, they will surprise you with their deft execution of the dishes, which is why they are such a success.

Settle inside the bright, sleek, and casual dining space featuring booths, regular seating, and a pretty little aquarium. It’s quiet, relaxed, and super friendly here, so you can savor their spectacular food without a care in the world.

Alongside staples like pho, the menu takes a deeper dive into the cuisine with stuff like vermicelli bowls and beef-filled wild betel leaf wraps up for grabs.

Begin the meal with one of their refreshing spring rolls or meat skewers before moving on to the main event. Grilled pork chops with rice, stir-fried lemongrass beef, vermicelli, stir-fried noodles, and satay peanut soups are just one of the many options, including GF entrees.

No matter what you get, expect refreshing flavors and rich-tasting meats. Everything comes in hearty portions, so remember to come with an empty and hungry stomach.

Finish off with their white bean and sticky rice milk dessert, and don’t forget to grab a colorful cup of bubble tea to go. Swing by their place any day from noon onwards to find out what all the rage is about.

4. Dockside Bar and Grill

Long-running local pub serving elevated comfort fare with a lakeside patio and regular live music

As one of the liveliest dining spots among restaurants in Chestermere, Dockside Bar and Grill attracts visitors from all over Calgary.

The elevated pub fare makes this decades-old local establishment one of the best, with its spacious lakeside patio, karaoke nights, and live music that keeps the atmosphere alive.

There’s plenty of space to eat and socialize inside too, where there’s a long bar and lots of tables in a very sports bar-like ambiance.

As far as the food goes, you’ll find everything to be made-to-order and prepared using fresh local ingredients that clearly reflect in the taste and presentation.

Start with apps like calamari, coconut prawns with lime aioli, or some perogies with salt and pepper rubbed ribs.

They’ve also got a gluten-free menu, along with a phenomenal beer selection to wash down all that good stuff. Oh and, let’s not forget their hearty breakfast picks – think loaded skillets and eggs benedict – available every day till 3 pm.

When you want a fancy breakfast/brunch or tea with the ladies, Dunn & Company has got you covered with its seasonal menu, fresh baked goods, and stunning ambiance.

They’re a very recent addition to the town’s dining scene and have already acquired a fan following of locals hooked on their scratch-made, gourmet quality fare.

6. Pita King

Local joint serving authentic Lebanese fare in a small and humble venue

Owned and operated by a humble and friendly little family, Pita King is considered as a staple within the Chestermere community. So not only do people rave about the wonderful Lebanese fare they cook up, but also love meeting the kind owners every time they come here. Talk about hospitality!

Specializing in wraps and donar meat, they’re a popular choice for quick lunches, though they’re certainly worth a hefty full-sized meal too. The place itself is a no-frills, counter-order joint with a few seats, and is mostly geared toward takeouts.

You’ll love the authenticity and passion behind these Lebanese delicacies, and pretty much everything on the menu leaves guests impressed.

Start with a refreshing tabouli salad tossed in parsley and olive oil, then hone in on the wraps. They’re filled to the brim with juicy and flavorsome meat, fresh veggies, and all the tahini and tzatziki goodness you could ask for.

We suggest trying the shawarma or the beef donar too. The platters are great for a bigger meal as well, featuring lamb and chicken (Shish Tawook) skewers with hummus, salads, and pita.

The falafels are fluffy, the meats perfectly seasoned, and the fries drenched in the best kind of sauces – you can’t go wrong with any of these options.

Drop by between Monday-Saturday, 11 am – 8 pm, and don’t be surprised if the delightful people behind the counter throw in some complementary baklava with your order!
