The Best Restaurants In Bloomsburg & Buckhorn, PA: Food Worth Waiting For!

1. PhoViet

The best Pho you can find in PA! Fresh, hot and served with a lot of love from the Vietnamese family that owns it.

One of the best restaurants in Buckhorn & Bloomsburg is PhoViet. It’s a family owned and locally operated Vietnamese place that has unique flavors, excellent service and some of the best food you’ve ever had.

If you like Pho then it doesn’t get better than this. So, no matter what other plans you have when you come to town, this is one place you don’t want to miss.

The interior of the place is also just as unique as their food. Green and red walls surround the seating that’s arranged in a long corridor that has some very cool, neon floating lights above each table. The aesthetic just goes together very well and makes it a cool place to have food in. Their service is also professional and efficient, so you won’t have any complaints, no matter how crowded it gets.

As for the food, their Banh Mi and Beef Noodle Soup or Pho are considered their specialty, so make sure you get those for the table. Plus, they have many bubble tea and smoothie options that are very popular so try those as well. Everything always comes piping hot and made from scratch, making it a delicious meal each time you visit.

PhoViet is closed on Mondays. It reopens on Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 8 pm. On Saturday and Sunday its open from 11 am to 7 pm. Making it a great stop for lunch or dinner, so make sure you add it to your itinerary.

2. West End Ale Haus

A pub, sports bar and restaurant all combined in one! So, come for the food but stay for the entertainment.

If you’re always on the lookout for a great burger joint, then West End Ale Haus is going to be just the right place to go to get your fix of burgers and meat.

Not only do they have all the different varieties and combos you can think of in a burger, but they also serve a lot of other classic lunch and dinner items that will satiate any appetite. So, if you’re hungry, you know where to go!

With 14 TVs in the eatery, there’s a huge emphasis on watching football games here live. Making for an extremely entertaining and lively atmosphere, so if you love watching sports and not missing a single touchdown, you’re going to leave with a ton of friends. It’s a perfect place to end up relieving some stress or get rid of the weekend blues.

The best things on the menu are their burgers, and they are known locally for those. They also make some great wings and wraps that locals love as well.

But if you want to try one of the many beers on tap, then you could also order some of their appetizers to nibble on if you aren’t that hungry.

West End Ale Haus is open nearly every day, so there can be no excuses to miss it! But they are closed on Mondays.

From Tuesday to Thursday, they are open from 4 pm to 12 am and on Fridays they are open from 4 pm to 2 am. On Saturdays they are open from noon to 2 am and on Sundays they are open from noon to midnight.

The ambiance is very upscale and trendy with exquisite chandeliers, bar seating with high stools and many smaller tables to choose from, so there will be plenty of room to accommodate even the biggest of parties. But, if you’re also looking for somewhere quiet and intimate to spend a romantic night out, then this would be the spot out of all the other restaurants in Buckhorn & Bloomsburg on our list.

Their head Chef, Andres Muñoz makes everything from scratch from locally sourced ingredients, making everything you try a novel experience. You’ll relish each bit and look forward to the next course, because his food is amongst the best in the region.

This is the perfect place to experiment with new dishes and get out of your comfort zone too, so that you get to enjoy their food at its finest. Plus, they have an extensive wine list as well, something to pair with everything on the menu. It just doesn’t get better than this!

La Malbec Bar & Restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday, its open from Wednesday to Thursday 5 pm to 9 pm. On Friday and Saturday its open from 5 pm to 10 pm and on Sunday its open from 10 pm to 2 pm for lunch only. So, make sure you choose the right day and time, when you’re picking when to go.

4. Turkey Hill Brewing Co.

Family and pet friendly restaurant serving delectable American cuisine with separate kids menu, outdoor seating, and occasional live music.

Located at The Inn at Turkey Hill, Turkey Hill Brewing Co. restaurant serves a daily menu that changes every day alongside a standard menu that is full of some amazing treats that you can’t find anywhere else in Buckhorn or Bloomsburg.

Whether you’re a meat lover or a Ramen lover, they have something for everyone here, so no matter which day you end up coming on, you’ll enjoy their food and ambiance regardless of what you’re served. Their burgers are well loved by locals, as is their ‘Meat Mondays’.

The restaurant has a rustic theme with lots of wooden and glass elements used for decoration. It also has an outdoor patio that allows your four-legged companion to accompany you with! So, if you have a good boy or girl, whose well-behaved and likes to go on outings with you, this place will be the perfect way to spend some time together! They also have live music at times too.

Their food is absolutely scrumptious. Whether you try their daily specials or their standard items, you’re bound to wind up with a flavorful meal that’s made with the finest quality ingredients.

They also have dessert menu as well, full of decadent dishes to satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth, plus they also have a kids menu that makes ordering for your little ones, a breeze.

Turkey Hill Brewing Co. is closed on Sundays. Monday to Friday its open from 4 pm to 10 pm. On Saturday its open from noon to 10 pm. It’s a great place for a late lunch or dinner, any day of the week, so add it to your schedule.

5. The Blind Pig Kitchen

An organic restaurant that’s family owned, using fresh produce from their farm, in a great ambiance and with exceptional service.

Toby Diltz and Sarah Walzer are the husband-and-wife duo behind The Blind Pig Kitchen, an amazing establishment where they believe in healthy food that tastes amazing yet doesn’t compromise on standards, quality or your health.

They grow most of the stuff used inside the restaurant on their own farm, and breed many of their own animals as well. Their whole philosophy is based on sustainability and nature first, and the restaurant reflects those values.

A very classy interior awaits you when you enter the restaurant. The wooden paneling on the ceiling and the floor gives it a very sophisticated look, as do the black chairs. The wall hangings also go with the theme of the place really well and add a nice touch of elegance. All in all, it’s a lovely ambiance that makes you feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

Their Pastas, Salads, Sandwiches and Vegetarian menu items are some of the most popular ones, so those are great to look into when deciding what to order.

Plus, they also have lots of amazing desserts that the locals love, like cheesecakes and pies. So, ask them whichever is available and save room for it!

The Bling Pig Kitchen is open On Friday and Saturday only 6 pm onwards. As they’re only open for 2 days they expect everyone to place a reservation before coming, so make sure you call ahead and reserve a spot!

6. May’s Drive in Restaurant

May’s Drive in Restaurant is your classic neighborhood diner specializing in ice-cream, hotdogs, burgers and Pizza. It’s been around forever and is fondly thought of as a local icon. So, if other places on this list are closed, you can always rely on May’s to be open everyday and selling all its best-known food, which is another reason it’s so popular amongst the locals.

The interior is done up like a classic diner. With booth and table side seating, large bay windows and black and white hanging lights that add a touch of whimsy to the décor. You can also choose to sit on one of the red highchairs that line the bar, so you’re closer to the food and action!

They also have outdoor seating under pretty red and white umbrellas, if the weather’s great and you want to make the most of it.

As for the food, they’re known for their ice-cream, so that’s always a safe bet, especially if you’re looking for a snack when its not quite lunch or dinner.

Or, if you want to try their burgers, the locals love those too and regard them very highly. Plus, they also make a mean sandwich that you can enjoy with some hot French fries. So, if you want some snack to get you through till dinner or lunch, this is the perfect place to come to.

May’s Drive in Restaurant is open every day from 10:30 am to 8 pm, so make sure you drop by and visit one of the most iconic places in town.

7. Gourmet Buffet

If you like Chinese food and enjoy the blend of spices and flavors that are so unique to it, then you will really like Gourmet Buffet.

It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet that has a lot of different options to choose from and some kid friendly dishes as well. They also have Thai, Japanese and Mongolian options as well, so there’s plenty to try!

The interior of the place is charming, with lots of Chinese calligraphy and art mounted on the walls, many seating options to choose from and even a turtle aquarium in the middle of the restaurant that has actual small, land turtles in it. Very entertaining for the kids, so if you have any along with you they’ll absolutely love this. 

As far as the food is concerned, their buffet is one of the most popular ones in town. Full of chicken, pork, beef and vegetarian dishes, there is plenty of choice and variety to select from.

Its almost impossible to sample everything that they serve in one go, so you’ll probably be back a second time to check out the things you missed! Their soups and salads are also highly requested dishes, so if you want something light, those can be great too.

Gourmet Buffet is closed on Monday. Tuesday to Thursday the place is open from 11 am to 9 pm, on Friday and Saturday, its open from 11 am to 9:30 pm and on Sunday its open from 11 am to 9 pm, again. So, there’s plenty of time to visit it, for lunch or dinner.
