Six Fantastic Volunteer Roles In Dakar & Senegal

1. ALIMA

ALIMA works in 13 different countries, but is based out of Dakar in Senegal. So what do they do? Well they provide crucial medical care to those who need it most, treating two million people since 2009.

In the words of Dr Susan Shepherd, a doctor working with ALIMA: “Millions of children die every year from preventable diseases. This is what motivates us to treat and care for as many people as we can.”

They are often looking for volunteers who share their vision and have the skills to match. While volunteers with medical experience are encouraged to get in touch, ALIMA has said in the past that they’re keen to speak to people with a variety of skills and experience about potential volunteer opportunities.
