Tenby is an iconic seaside town for many reasons, but one of our favourite aspects about this pretty Welsh town is the wealth of relaxed and delightful restaurants in Tenby!

Whether you want to grab a quick bite after exploring the Pembrokeshire coast, or fancy a posh dinner with your family, Tenby never disappoints.

The amazing combination of restaurants overlooking the beautiful beaches here, and many fine dining spots, makes this town an absolute must visit for a foodie.

That being the case, we felt compelled to share with you some of our favourite Tenby restaurants. Places that locals love as much as tourists, and you know the saying – do as the locals do!

Twelve Of The Best Tenby Restaurants You Have To Try

1. Qube Restaurant

Situated in the center of Tenby, this award winning restaurant is the place to be for amazing seafood and exceptional customer service. The recently renovated restaurant is ideal for you to enjoy well-cooked cuisine in a sophisticated dining space and friendly atmosphere.

Enjoy their internationally inspired meals by the open log fire during the colder months or soak in the sun with a nice chilled drink in their sunny outdoor seating area.

Their seasonal menus, prepared with locally sourced ingredients, are made with great love and the dishes definitely suit all tastes!

However what they’re known locally for is serving up delicious seafood dishes using freshly caught produce. Try out the Crab Salad, but honestly, any of their fish and lobster dishes are superb.

2. Coach & Horses

If you fancy a relaxed, quaint and charming atmosphere with nice pub grub food, Coach & Horses is a great dining option. The friendly and quick service, hearty food and nice portions attract many locals.

Known as the oldest pub in Tenby, this gastropub with exposed beams and traditional interior will definitely satisfy your food cravings thanks to their generous portions and nice drink offers.

We recommend trying their delicious Sirloin Steak, and if you are a fan of thai food like us, try their Thai Chicken Paneang Curry – highly praised by many.

3. The Fat Seagull

The fun and welcoming atmosphere at this restaurant has made it a famous stop-over-point for visitors – particularly those who love ice cream.

The Fat Seagull is known for its award winning ice cream, so kids will absolutely love this place. Adults too, thanks to their nice selection of drinks.

As for food there’s some very tasty options. The friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and nice sized portions are a big plus too. We recommend trying their Lamb Burger, Hake and Dirty Fries, accompanied with some chilled Welsh cider.

However, you can’t book in advance as it is walk-in only, so you might have to wait to get a table. The amazing pudding and great food is definitely worth the wait – and is one of the reasons why The Fat Seagull is a favourite dining spot with locals.

4. Florentino’s

Overlooking the harbour, Florentino’s is our favourite Tenby restaurant when it comes to prime location and authentic Italian food.

An amazing variety of gnocchi, fish, meat, pizza and pasta dishes, accompanied by an outstanding wine list, create the perfect blend for a great family dinner or a romantic date night with scenic views.

Although this place doesn’t have a dedicated kids menu, the staff will happily accommodate any request for smaller portions.

We recommend booking your table in advance so you can get an uncompromised view of Tenby harbour.

As for what we loved – the Lobster Linguini and Seafood Risotto, accompanied with an incredible house wine and finished off with Nutella Calzone. Definitely one of our most memorable Tenby restaurant experiences.

5. Arch Kitchen Tenby

This excellent brunch place is a hidden gem that can only be found by going down steep stairs! It’s worth finding though for the fantastic menu and excellent service.

This cafe/restaurant knows how to re-imagine the simplest dishes in a way that is something of a masterclass – their omelettes, pancakes and cheese and egg toastie are all well presented, taste great and very affordable.

Open until 5pm everyday, this dog-friendly cozy cafe serves fine dining brunch classics, made from locally sourced Pembrokeshire produce.

Their good-sized portions, great food variety and incredible desserts are perfect to share with friends. We recommend trying their full English Breakfast, Roast Dinners, or delicious Mushroom Tagliatelle.

6. Mykonos

We love the relaxed and friendly atmosphere at Mykonos and with all the dishes prepared using fresh, authentic Greek ingredients, you’re guaranteed a great Greek culinary experience.

Prepared using authentic Greek methods, we loved the Tzatziki starters and Mousaka and Chicken a la Greque. We recommend complimenting your dish with their nice variety of Greek and English beers, wines and liqueurs.

If you are going with a group of friends or family members and looking to share some platters, the Mixed Grill is a good option.

And if you are gluten intolerant, choices such as Chicken and Lamb Skewers, as well as their Leg of Lamb accompanied with potatoes known as Kleftiko, is a must.

7. The Baytree

Beautifully located in the heart of Tenby’s Tudor Square, this cozy restaurant offers outstanding locally sourced ingredients in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We love the tasty dishes here – even more so as they’re great value alongside awesome customer service.

The nice selection of gin and whiskey here compliments the meat dishes and delicious salmon main.

We highly recommend having their Steak on Parsnip Mash and why not finish it all off with a very unique and tropical taste – the Passionfruit and Mango Cheesecake.

8. Stables Restaurant

This cosmopolitan restaurant, nestled between Medieval Town Walls, has a nice intimate setting for your dinner.

Stables Restaurant doesn’t have a stagnant menu either, and that’s exactly why we love the variety of foods to explore on each visit!

Vegans, vegetarians and kids will also love the variety of food, which can be catered to specific requirements.

In particular, this restaurant serves great local lobster, venison, duck, pheasant and many other classics, all at a reasonable price. The wine list will also leave you impressed. Definitely worth a visit.

9. Top Joes Tenby

This artisanal pizzeria will please both children and adults thanks to the great quality food, nice variety and use of local ingredients. The original artwork on the walls gives the restaurant a quirky feel.

The friendly and welcoming staff offer quick service and if the kids are feeling peckish, then this pizzeria serves cannoli, affogato and ice cream that are exceptionally good.

You can also enjoy a well deserved glass of wine by taking up a snug spot on the terrace.

10. Plantagenet House

Voted in the top 25 dining spots in Wales, Plantagenet House is such a unique experience and serves fresh and delicious food.

The unique interior décor adds to this restaurant’s charm, with the eclectic design, medieval chimney, dim lighting, giant fireplaces, fabulous artworks and quirky tables.

Although the prices are quite high, the quality, presentation and outstanding ingredients will not let you down.

Plantagenet House is a fine dining experience with a very unique seasonal menu, including fresh seafood and a very notable wine list.

We highly recommend their steak and to finish it off, do try the Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream – the best we’ve had in Wales. Definitely one of the best Tenby restaurants.

11. Sandbar & Cwlbox

If you are looking for a relaxed and informal setting to enjoy a nice variety of beers, spirits and ciders, along with delicious seafood and a street food-style menu, then this trendy restaurant/bar is a great choice.

This place fuses Sandbar’s independent drinks with Cŵlbox’s delicious street food, and the result is perfect. This restaurant knows exactly how to compliment drinks with great food.

We love the generous portions, good price, freshly cooked food and imaginative menu with tastes to remember. We recommend their Bang Bang Prawns as starters, followed with the decadent Crab and Chorizo Mac & Cheese. Why not try their great beer and gin options too?

12. The Blue Ball

We love The Blue Ball, not only for its quirky name, but also for the stylish and rustic setting.

This restaurant serves the perfect blend of British, Welsh and European dishes, all freshly prepared with the  finest seasonal and local ingredients.

With so many amazing food recommendations, this restaurant has a menu to suit all tastes – we loved their Lobster Custard, Tuna Loin in a Lobster Bisque and Chocolate Parfait.

Vegans also have nice options to choose from, and one popular dish is the Cauliflower Steak.

For more adventurous foodies there’s some very experimental options! Their Honeycomb Ice Cream with Duck Egg is one to try.
