1. The Stone Crab

A rustic and bubbly harbourside restaurant with tasty seafood, outdoor seating and a local pub a mere stone’s throw away.

If you’re planning a trip to Saundersfoot, then you absolutely must make time to visit The Stone Crab restaurant.

This simple and laid-back seafood restaurant is far more than just a place to grab a bite. It’s cosy and bustling with atmosphere, making it a hit with locals and tourists alike. So please sit back and let the maritime-themed restaurant speak for itself; with quick and friendly service, you’re sure to leave here beaming!

Choose between dining al fresco in that salty fresh sea air or taking a seat at one of the rustic tables inside. During the winter, we suggest the latter to keep the frosty days at bay.

The Stone Crab serves up some of the freshest and most flavourful seafood in the area. From classic dishes like fish and chips and seafood platters to more creative options like Stone Crab fish pie and roasted Cod Kiev, their menu bursts with passionate seafood dishes.

And if you’re not a seafood fan, don’t worry – The Stone Crab also offers some meat selections. And we’re hoping in the near future they will provide more vegetarian options too.

But one of the things that really sets The Stone Crab apart is its location. Found on the scenic harbour, with The Captains Table Pub a mere step away from their door, you can kill two birds with one stone and enjoy a tasty seafood dinner followed by a sneaky nightcap.

Trust us, you don’t want to miss out on the chance to experience The Stone Crab, one of our (and the locals’) best restaurants in Saundersfoot.

4. The Mulberry Restaurant

A pet-friendly restaurant that serves beautifully plated global cuisine in a cosy environment.

Undoubtedly, the harbour area in Saundersfoot attracts a hub of activity. And one of the most beloved additions to the district is The Mulberry Restaurant. This place offers diverse locally sourced dishes and a peaceful vantage point to indulge in our favourite past-time; people-watching.

It’s like an unfinished work of art, and don’t expect that to change. However, exposed bricks, overhanging beams and some questionably abstract plastering all make this restaurant feel oddly relaxing. It’s cosy and reminiscent of old rustic buildings; if you haven’t heard, that’s all the rage currently!

Of course, the experience is made all the more incredible by their food! It’s a creative feat of global cuisine. The ingredients are all locally sourced, from the seafood to the fresh vegetables, and the quality shows.

The ingenious chefs have created a dynamic and interesting menu packed full of eclectic global treats. Flavourful risottos, tapas for lunch, curries and more are all tucked into the pages of their ala carte menus.

And on Sunday, Saundersfoot is treated to a delightful Sunday roast, rumoured to be one of the best in town.

The staff are attentive and welcoming, with guests often regaling on their prompt and friendly service with fondness. It’s family-friendly too, and if you call ahead to book, you can also bring your frisky Fido along.

6. Kookaba

Australia meets the UK coast in a fantastic augmentation packed with vibrant energy, delicious steaks and exotic treats and a spacious outdoor patio.

Rumour has it that Saundersfoot is hiding a little piece of the land down under right on their doorstep. That’s because Kookaba is an Australian-themed restaurant found on Saundersfoot’s High Street. It’s a break from the norm and a welcome one at that.

While there are a few vegetarian options, be warned, this is a meat lover’s paradise! The menu is a diverse mixture of steaks, burgers, seafood and more and offers quite a bundle of options to choose from.

And if you’re looking for something you’ve never tried before, you can find exotic delicacies to the tune of kangaroo steaks and barramundi.

Reegulars state that the steaks are an absolute winner, with most of their guests raving about the excellent quality, tender cooking and flavourful taste!

You won’t be able to miss it, with a big sign out front ushering guests through the door. The spacious venue also opens into a private patio, enclosed with umbrellas to offer shade from the summer sun. If you close your eyes, you may even be able to picture yourself hanging out on Australia’s famed beaches.

A nautical theme envelops the entire restaurant, with beachy decor from surfboards to thatch; we’d call it kitschy if it weren’t so cool!

And the staff offer exemplary service too, which has often made them the talk of awestruck reviewers who wholeheartedly agree that Kookaba is easily one of the best restaurants in Saundersfoot.

7. Coast Saundersfoot

A beautiful architectural space overlooking the beach, with seasonal tasting menus, concise wine selections and a gorgeous patio that’s earned them two Rosette’s and a spot in the Michelin Guide.

If you’re looking for a gorgeous view and a fine-dining experience, Coast Saundersfoot is the spot for you.

Not only has this coveted restaurant been awarded 2 highly-acclaimed Rosettes, but they’ve also earned themselves recognition by Michelin! So if there’s any place that deserves a spot on anyone’s list of the best restaurants in Saundersfoot, it’s Coast.

All this is, in part, is thanks to the genius chef Fred Clapperton. A creative lad who once had ambitions of becoming an architect, instead he found that the hospitality industry gave him that artistic release he so desired!

The beautifully situated restaurant overlooks the golden sands of Copper Hill; it’s everything you could ask for in one gorgeous setting. The building is an eye-popper, something unusual but so fitting for the time. To us, it seems reminiscent of beachfront mansions.

And trust us when we say you’re in for a celebrity experience. The interior has been reimagined (thank you, Fred!) and features floor-to-ceiling windows, trees sprouting from the floors, pendant lights and suave furnishings.

But enough about the looks of the place, the food is what you’re really here for! Coast is inspired by the picturesque location and the glorious surroundings of Pembrokeshire; after all, the chef spent lockdown exploring the area and found that it was rich in diverse and flavoursome ingredients.

Each dish has a story and somehow nods its tribute to the town of Saundersfoot. Naturally, the seasonal menus undergo changes as the ingredients do. Still, you can always guarantee a fresh, high-quality meal when you visit here.

From lunch to dinner to an exquisite 7-course tasting menu, the kitchen creates dishes that aren’t only stunning to look at but melt on the tongue.

The staff are professional and show perfect etiquette, and hospitality, making each visit one for the books!

8. Sue’s Pantry

A confectionary store with a cutesy exterior and a window full of delicious-looking cakes and treats, serving on-the-go lunches and goodies to soothe any sweet tooth.

Sue’s Pantry deserves an honourable mention; they’re not your typical restaurant. Instead, they’re a hole in the wall found a stone’s throw away from Saunderfoots’ beach, and the windows offer an enticing view into the treats that await you inside.

The cute, pastel mint exterior caught our eye, and we’re sure glad it did. The reviews speak for themselves, locals and visitors love paying Sue’s Pantry a visit, and we’re sure you will too!

Cakes! Cakes! And more cakes! Those line the windows and create a colourful mosaic of beautifully decorated confectionaries. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll be in heaven and will most certainly fall in love with Saundersfoots’ worst-kept secret.

But if you’re looking for something a bit more savoury, fear not! You can pick from their selection of freshly-made salad boxes, gluten-free sandwiches and hand-made rolls packed with delicious toppings.

They don’t offer a sit-down service; instead, they offer their dishes for visitors to enjoy in the comfort of their home, office, or as a delightful picnic spot on the beach just minutes away.
