Known for its striking architecture and set on a winding river, it’s little surprise we are big fans of the ‘Spa’ and have thoroughly enjoyed our visits here. The Six Best Pubs in Leamington Spa For Food, Beer & Fun!

1. The White Horse

We all love a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a meal or share a drink with friends. And they don’t come much more relaxed than The White Horse in Leamington Spa.

A popular gastropub with a bit of history, you’ll easily get settled in to this modern looking pub. The long bar is coupled with seating near the windows, all of which creates an open area so things feel spacious – it’s cozy but certainly not cramped.

And for those sunny days there’s a wonderful courtyard which is covered, and there’s even heated seats for when the temperature begins to drop.

How about the food? Well the menu is packed with British pub classics and the food is so good it’ll be hard to stop yourself from going for three courses. Share some Nachos to kick things off or grab the tasty Pan Fried King Prawns & Chorizo.

For a main you can’t go wrong with Sausage and Mash, the tasty Burgers they serve here, or the exceptional Pale Ale Battered Fish with Triple Cooked Chips. If you get to the stage of wanting dessert then you are a true food warrior as the portions here are hearty, so treat yourself to the Belgian Chocolate Brownie or Sticky Toffee Pudding as a reward. There are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu, all clearly laid out.

The food sounds great but what can you wash it down with? Well there tends to be two regular ales that are served here – Purity Pure UBU and Sharp’s Doom Bar. Four additional taps have ever changing ales to give other brewers a chance to shine so maybe you will get the chance to try something new.

There’s some traditional pub games to play, and occasional live music too. On top of that there’s disabled access, it’s a family friendly pub, and we’ve found the atmosphere to be so comfortable that The White Horse is a place you can easily stay for a few hours.

2. The Boiler Room

Craft beer and ale enthusiasts, this one’s for you.

Before we get on to the beer can we just talk about the interior for a moment. Brickwork, concrete, exposed pipes and the use of steel gives this place that great industrial look. The minimalist approach is very clever, and although we see it more and more these days, we think The Boiler Room have done it very well.

Anyway on to the beer! There’s four taps with rotating ales alongside a fantastic selection of craft beer.

It’s easy to bring someone along that’s not a massive beer fan too, as there’s a range of artisan gin and wine available as well.

If you get peckish be sure to try the homemade Sausage Rolls or Pork Pies.

The Boiler Room may look a bit like a micropub, but there’s actually plenty of room. Enough room that they even have the occasional live band on, making things quite lively!

3. Clarendon

Perhaps you’re the type that enjoys watching sport in a busy place with a lively atmosphere – if so you’re in luck.

The Clarendon in the middle of Leamington Spa is a large modern pub with plenty to offer everyone. There’s lots of seats for those wanting to relax with a pint, or if you dabble in pool there’s a couple of tables to play on.

They know that not everyone wants to watch the same sport, so there can be up to four different events on the big screens! They also have very good food and some great deals – more on that later.

As for drinks, there’s a rotating selection of six craft beers on tap with something new being added every week. There’s also three ales to choose from, often from Church Farm and Purity breweries. However the fully stocked bar covers everyone’s favourite tipple including cocktails.

Now the food…..

Brunch is served all day! Grab a loaded sub or a big ol’ bowl of fries. Wings, Tacos, Burgers, Hot Dogs and Burritos are all available and that’s just a summary of the extensive menu that’s filled with great comfort food from around the world.

And now it’s time to guide you through the wonderful deals they had here at the time of writing:

Monday – ‘Burger of the Month’ is just £5
Tuesday – Donut Stacks are £2.50
Wednesday – Bottomless Wings for £9.99
Thursday – Craft Beer and Cocktails for £3.50
Friday – Double Vodka, Rum, Gin or Whisky for £5
All day, everyday – Burger, Fries and a Drink £9.95
Everyday till 4pm – Loaded Sub, Fries and a Drink £7.45

To top things off, dogs are welcome too – maybe more so than people! With so much to offer, even if you’re not a fan of sports, this is easily one of the best pubs in Leamington Spa.

4. Woodland Tavern

It’s the middle of the day, you’re in the centre of Leamington Spa and just remembered there’s a game on that you wanted to watch….. You don’t want a large busy pub where you’re straining to see the TV, instead you want somewhere a bit smaller, comfortable, cosy and friendly. Well you are in luck as you can easily visit the Woodland Tavern!

Choose to sit in the main bar area or lounge and relax with a pint of Slaughterhouse Saddleback Best Bitter or Timothy Taylor Landlord while watching live sports on the screens.

Whether the game ends the way you wanted it to or not, after a few you’ll be in the mood to stay here anyway. So if it’s a sunny day then head out to the unique courtyard to have a look at the murals, and as dogs are welcome you could also make a new furry friend!

There is disabled access throughout, some pub games to play, and if your stay takes you into the evening there are occasionally live local bands playing in the lounge.

5. Bedford Street

Pop your dancing shoes on, it’s time to visit Bedford Street.

Live bands play five days a week with a range of jazz, blues and modern music, whilst Wednesdays is reserved for jam sessions. This is one of the best Leamington Spa pubs to experience some of the best nightlife in town.

It’s not all music though – this is also a fantastic place to eat.

Their offering of ‘Street Bites’ will go great with a pint, so grab some Wings, Jalapeno Poppers or Garlic and Chilli Prawns. For something more filling you can’t go wrong with Pizza, Burgers and Ribs.

To make things even better, you can get two pizzas for the price of one on Tuesdays. Whilst on Thursdays that offer applies to burgers, and Fridays are reserved for offers on fizz. Sunday to Thursday there’s two for one on cocktails and if you order the Sunday Roast, children with you will get their roast for free!

The bar is well stocked and on tap they’ve got Hook Norton Hooky ale and Purity Mad Goose. Plus a large beer garden completes this place, and there’s disabled access throughout.

Great food, fantastic offers amazing music and a beer garden. No wonder this is one of the best pubs in Leamington Spa.

6. The New Inn

You ever think, it’s a glorious day – where can I take my llama?

The New Inn is the answer! Well you may not witness any llamas when visiting, but we do know that they welcome any well-behaved pet here. In fact don’t be surprised if you spot a cat or rabbit on your visit.

A family friendly pub with disabled access, this is another place in Leamington Spa with a lot to offer its customers. They’ve got beer, great food, lovely seating outside and occasional live music. So be sure to check their Facebook page to see what events may be on when you visit.

If you’re looking for food then the lunchtime menu has a great selection of sandwiches and jacket potatoes, but if you visit for dinner there’s some fantastic pub comfort food on offer. Burgers, Ribs, Fish & Chips, Lasagne, Lamb Chops and Nachos – they’ve got them all! Of course there are some veggie options too.

If you’re seated outside, the beer garden is walled to give a private feel and should the weather turn there is a covered area. While inside you’ll feel right at home thanks to the relaxed atmosphere and the fun games area.

As for drinks, Eagle IPA, Sharp’s Atlantic, Sharp’s Doom Bar and Sharp’s Sea Fury are all available on tap alongside various other beers. Delicious cocktails and everything you’d expect from a great bar are also available so everyone will be happy.

There’s more! Sport is shown on the TV’s inside and outside, and there’s a pub quiz that takes place every second Wednesday of the month if you fancy testing your knowledge.

This is a great pub to spend time at no matter the time of day or the weather. Plus you never know… a llama may appear and you don’t want to miss out on that.
