Our Top Eight Picks For Breakfast & Brunch In Eureka Springs: Food Worth Getting Out Of Bed For!

1. The Filling Station Restaurant

The Filling Station stands true to its name – it fills you up with some delicious breakfast! Located in the heart of Eureka Springs, this little diner has a vast and impressive breakfast menu. So it’s no surprise that locals love this place.

Enjoy their food outside on the pet-friendly patio where you can take in the scenery as you munch on your meal, or dine indoors where there’s unique gas station-themed decor and a friendly, casual diner atmosphere for a comfortable, laid-back breakfast experience.

At the Filling Station breakfast is treated as it should be: as the most important meal of the day and is served all day long. You get enormous portions for a very reasonable price that’s enough to satisfy the biggest of appetites.

Take for example their Blueberry Pancakes; they’re as large as your plate and are filled with lots of fresh blueberries (seriously – you get a lot of them!) Just one pancake should be enough to satisfy your hunger, but you can also get a full stack if you’re extra ravenous. The same goes for their omelets – huge, loaded with fillings, and downright delicious!

Oh and, along with some great coffee, their wait staff makes sure your mugs are full without you even having to ask for a refill. Experience their amazing service and quality food by visiting any day between 8 am to 2 pm, and you’ll likely come back again for more!

2. Mud Street Cafe

One of Eureka Springs’ award-winning, most celebrated, and popular breakfast spots is Mud Street Cafe. And there’s a good reason why that’s so.

Unlike other places, this historic and quirky cafe is built underground. So after a flight of stairs down, you’ll find yourself within stone walls, an eclectic selection of decor, wooden tables and chairs, and dim lighting with a rustic pub-like atmosphere. Of course, they’ve also got some delicious breakfast picks, and if you want to go al fresco, the Mud Street Cafe Annex – which is its sister location just a few steps down the street – has outdoor seating available for just that.

Once you’re done taking in the spectacular views within the cafe, go ahead and order their amazing breakfast wrap. It’s a heavenly combination of scrambled eggs, loads of steamed veggies (think squash and bell peppers), hash browns, and some cheese with a side of homemade salsa. Served hot and fresh, you’ll love every bite of this fan-favorite dish.

Their Greek omelet is also our personal favorite, as it has unique ingredients like artichoke hearts and olives and comes with a side of either hash browns or garlic cheese grits (you should totally go for the grits – they’re fantastic!). They also have other enticing options on the menu, like the scrumptious Breakfast Croissant or the creative Veggie Grits that has cheese and salsa, so we won’t blame you if you feel like ordering everything at once!

Oh and, Mud Street Cafe also has some amazing coffee blends along with super-talented baristas. So expect some top-class coffee that can charge you up for the day ahead.

Visit this historical and rustic-looking one-of-a-kind cafe from Thursday through Monday, between 8 am to 3 pm, for some of the best breakfast in Eureka Springs. They do a fantastic Sunday brunch up to 1pm on Sundays too!

3. Myrtie Mae’s

Myrtie Mae’s is Eureka Springs’s hidden gem – quite literally – since it’s located inside the Best Western Inn, and there’s no sign outside indicating that either!

But once you do find it, you’ll be glad you chose to dine here! Serving classic American breakfast within a charming, old-school dining room, this place has a very homey vibe to it. It’s perfect for those mornings when you’re craving a good strong coffee and want a quiet, relaxed breakfast in a friendly and peaceful atmosphere.

Just like the vibe here, their menu is pretty relaxed and easy going, featuring home-style cooking that makes you feel satisfied and full.

We highly recommend Myrtie’s Fluffy Omelet, as you can choose your fillings for the enormous three-egg omelet that’s fluffy like a cloud and tasty as anything. Tip: request a side of their amazing salsa to accompany your omelet – you’ll love the combination!

We’re also suckers for their veggie hash browns that have loads of cheese and salsa along with fresh vegetables like broccoli and mushrooms – it’s a favorite and you’ll know why once you taste it.

Along with other stuff like fluffy pancakes and deliciously sticky cinnamon rolls, Myrtie Mae’s also has good coffee that kicks in strong, so you’re fueled up and ready to go hiking.

They’re open every day from 7 am to 8 pm, so try coming back later to get a taste of their famous mouth-watering fried chicken!

4. Oscar’s Cafe

Want to grab some delicious breakfast while you’re hiking on the Historic Loop in Eureka Springs? Head towards Oscar’s Cafe, tucked away on White Street off the beaten path. It’s a charming old house refurbished into a vintage-style cafe, with newspaper articles as wall decor and a few cute tables to accommodate its customers in a cozy and casual atmosphere.

While the inside is pretty neat, you can also dine on the front porch, or in the shaded backyard. Either way, you’ll love the interesting and delectable breakfast picks here.

Their menu is unpretentious yet interesting, focusing on eggs and waffles for the most part, along with some breakfast bagels, and biscuits and gravy that’s only available on weekends. We recommend going for their unique whole wheat Nordic Waffles, which come topped with a smoked salmon mousse, arugula, and smashed avocado. It’s no surprise that it works wonders on the taste buds and has a cult following within the town!

Another of our favorites is the Breakfast Banh Mi; fuel up on these scrambled eggs that come with a spicy Asian slaw and some sriracha mayo, all tucked into a freshly toasted baguette – a breakfast pick truly worth getting out of bed for!

While you’re devouring their freshly made food, go ahead and order one of their delicious iced coffees to accompany your meal for a satisfying end to your breakfast experience.

Oscar’s Cafe is open every day except for Mondays, from 9 am (8 am on Saturdays) to 2 pm, so be sure to give it a try!

5. Nibbles Eatery

Nibbles Eatery is many locals’ go-to place whenever they want a reliably good breakfast. The owners and staff strive to serve breakfast that’s always fresh and mouth-watering, and that’s one of the reasons you’ll often find a waiting line here.

The other reason is that this eatery is arguably the coziest little place in Eureka Springs. With a few tables and no outdoor seating, along with plants and some neat decor on the walls, Nibbles is a tiny yet charming place for breakfast that makes you feel like you’re right at home.

The menu here isn’t very expansive, but the stuff they do have on offer is as good and fresh as breakfast at Grandma’s! Their Breakfast Quiche Platter is particularly popular, and we can understand why. A perfectly baked delectable quiche of your choice (pro tip: get the crab quiche!) along with a refreshing strawberry salad, some yogurt, and granola; it doesn’t just taste great but looks super appetizing too!

We recommend trying out their Eggs Benedict as well, which comes with bacon and spinach over an English muffin, and is one of the best benedicts in town. One bite into it and you’ll thank yourself for getting it!

Nibbles also has an impressive selection of coffees and breakfast smoothies, such as the Hearty Health Blast which has a mix of fresh berries – a very refreshing and energizing drink to start your day with.

Open from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 2 pm for breakfast and lunch, this little eatery is the perfect place for a fresh and relaxing breakfast or brunch in Eureka Springs – well worth the (inevitable) wait if you ask us.

6. The Sweet and Savory Cafe

The Sweet and Savory Cafe may look like an unassuming building from the outside, but the interior along with its delicious food and drinks all shine. Sit inside where the walls are bright yellow, the decor is colorful and artsy, and the atmosphere is comfortable and casual. However since there’s limited seating here, you may want to settle in the screened-in back patio, where the surroundings are quiet and you’ll have a view of the picturesque Ozarks as you munch on your breakfast fix.

Either way, you’re going to love what their limited yet exciting menu has to offer. Definitely go for the savory and scrumptious seafood crepe, which has lots of fresh and flavorful shrimp and crab meat topped with bechamel sauce – a plate of deliciousness that will surely leave you wowed!

And while their omelets and bagels are great, we’re partial to the generously-portioned SnS Breakfast Platter that lets you experience a bit of everything – eggs cooked your way, some of their light and delightful biscuits, and the incredibly tasty hash browns (add the bacon and sausage for a few extra bucks and you’ll have a meal fit for a king!).

This place is the perfect spot for having brunch in Eureka Springs too, as they’ve got a good selection of beer and some mimosas for you to sip on as you enjoy the view outside. Win-win! Do note, though, that they only serve breakfast from 9 am to 11 am, so get in early, especially if you want to get your hands on some of their drool-worthy cinnamon rolls.

Open every day except on Wednesday and Thursday, this place is likely going to become your go-to breakfast place when in Eureka Springs.

7. Eureka Springs Coffee House

For all the coffee aficionados out there, Eureka Springs Coffee House is your best bet for some excellent coffees that will awake those still sleepy taste buds.

It’s hard to not spot this unique place, as the bold dark blue exterior stands out amongst other restaurants in the downtown area. But unlike other cafes nearby, this coffee house has a spacious, airy, and bright interior with neat decor and comfy cushions making it a perfect place to chill in the morning. During the summers, they’ve also got outdoor seating on the front porch where you can sit back and people watch as you sip on your morning beverage.

The cafe may be famous locally for its impressive coffees, but it also has a killer breakfast menu with lots of gourmet picks that can make your stomach growl just by looking at them.

Our personal favorite is their Smoked Salmon Omelet, which is a big portion of three fluffy eggs with house-smoked salmon and some gruyere cheese topped with hollandaise sauce and a side of roasted potatoes/rice grits. A dish so good it will have you licking the plate clean. We also love their sweet and savory plate of chicken and waffles that have a Belgian waffle with some delicious chicken, all covered in pecan maple syrup. What a way to start the day! There are loads of other appetizing options on their expansive menu, so we won’t blame you if you order more than you can handle!

Drop by any day between 8 am to 3 pm for all-day breakfast or brunch. And be sure to ask for their seasonal flavored mimosas as they’re some of the best in town.

With top-class service and gourmet-style food, this coffee house offers some of the best breakfast in Eureka Springs that will keep you coming back for more!

8. Main Street Cafe

If you plan to shop till you drop after breakfast, head towards Main Street Cafe, located in downtown amongst many shops. There you can get a comforting breakfast that will fuel you and ready you up for the day ahead.

This unassuming little place is nothing fancy, with down-to-earth decor and a humble seating area that gives off old-school diner vibes. But once you indulge in their soulful and comforting American classics, you’ll be glad you stopped by!

As for what to try, we recommend the all-time Southern favorite Biscuits and Gravy. With fluffy and light biscuits made from scratch and a tasty gravy filled with sausages, this is probably one of the town’s best biscuits and gravy, and that’s saying something as Eureka Springs has no shortage of amazing restaurants!

The portions are huge too, so be sure you come with an appetite. Another standout is their Denver Omelet, which has ham, bell peppers, and onions filled to the brim along with loads of cheese to tie it all together. Oh and, don’t forget to order a side of their authentic country ham – it’s downright delicious!

Breakfast here is served from 8 am onwards with prompt service and attentive staff, so drop by any day of the week when you’re craving home-style, comfort food. You’re bound to leave with a satisfied and full stomach.
