Our Top Eight Picks For The Best Breakfast In Siesta Key: Delicious Food & Tropical Views

1. Village Cafe

For a delicious and filling meal that will leave you fueled up and ready to go out into the waters, visit Village Cafe – a family-owned business located in the heart of Siesta Key Village, north of the island.

With decades of experience in dishing out delicious breakfast staples with top-class service, Village Cafe has won generations of loyal customers. Go al fresco on their patio under palm trees and people watch as you munch on your meal, or dine inside in their welcoming, spacious dining room that has brightly colored walls and a tropical beach vibe to it.

If you manage to make it past their display of fresh homemade muffins and cinnamon rolls without drooling, you’ll find an expansive menu with lots of options to choose from. One of their regular favorites is the Italian Omelet which features sweet Italian sausage, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, and cheese – simple, tasty, and teeming with mozzarella!

We’re more biased towards their pancakes, or the enormous Breakfast Burrito though, which is filled with chorizo sausage, scrambled eggs, green peppers, and lots of cheeses, topped with salsa and – you guessed it – more cheese! Whichever option you choose to feast on, make sure you pair it with their mimosas or bloody marys – they’re one of the best you can get in Siesta key.

Village Cafe is open every day from 7.30 onwards, serving fresh and delicious breakfast till 2 pm when they close.

Experience their friendly staff, lively atmosphere, and generous portions of food and you’ll understand why the locals love this place!

Oh and, you can also have some post-breakfast retail therapy here, as the cafe is conveniently located among lots of local clothing stores and souvenir shops.

2. Toasted Mango Cafe

Less than a mile away from Crescent Beach, south of the island, is Toasted Mango Cafe – a bright, cheery, and chic place that was crowned the best diner in Florida a few years back. No wonder too when you check this place out! With its metallic, shiny ceiling, bright yellow walls, and cute yet simple decor, Toasted Mango is bound to put you in a good mood – and that’s before you even taste the food.

Their menu hits all the corners of soulful American breakfast, with some impressive specials that will make you drool mid-way through eating. Take, for example, their creative take on the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. With the goodness of homemade hash filled with onions, peppers, and mushrooms, topped with two eggs done your way, this dish can convert you from someone of skips breakfast to a breakfast fan within the first two bites.

You won’t be doing this place justice though if you don’t order something mango-y, so go ahead and get the Toasted Mango French Toast, which is topped with fresh mango, coconut, and whipped cream – a combo that surprisingly works wonders. Oh, and their unique mango butter on the side is a must-try too!

And we have to mention their gluten free options too. Not only are there many, but they even have delicious gluten free waffles – we’ve found that those are extremely hard to find.

Though there’s an (inevitable) wait on most mornings, their food is always worth the wait. Plus, you can always spend some time at the cute little gift shop located right beside the cafe as you wait.

Open every day from 7.30 am to 2.30 pm for all-day breakfast, Toasted Mango Cafe is the perfect breakfast pitstop before you head to the beach.

Address: 6621 Midnight Pass Rd

3. Sun Garden Cafe

Another of the local’s favorite spots in Siesta Key Village is the very picture-perfect Sun Garden Cafe, which offers creative takes on classic breakfast items.

You’ll likely love sitting on the pet-friendly patio here, where there’s seats and tables that are tucked behind vibrant tropical flora, shielding the patio from the street traffic. The indoors is spacious, friendly, and vibrant too, with bright green walls, retro-style decor, and music that’s bound to uplift your mood!

While the view within the cafe is great, the food is equally top quality – you’ll be hard-pressed not to order just about everything, as they’ve got some deliciously unique breakfast items. We suggest you go for one of their Garden omelets, such as the ‘Pops Country’. It’s a big, fluffy omelet with bacon, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese that is slathered in their sausage gravy along with a biscuit – talk about a hearty breakfast!

Prefer to keep it light? Opt for their ‘Bikini Bagel’ – a creative combination of turkey, tomato, avocado, and dried figs with basil pesto spread on a multigrain bagel. And while they’ve got plenty of beverages, the ‘Mother’s Little Helper’ and ‘Mango Bellini’ are two tasty concoctions that will win you over.

Sun Garden Cafe is open every day from 7.30 am to 1.30 pm, serving all-day long, mouth-watering breakfast picks made with fresh, high-quality, locally-sourced produce – just what we like to hear.

4. Nutritious You – Plant-Based Café

The only ‘true’ vegan cafe in Siesta Key, Nutritious You is a health-centric spot, located south of the island. It is the place to head for delicious vegan and gluten-free breakfast items, fresh juices and smoothies, along with some great coffee.

Once inside, you’re bound to fall in love with its minimalist interior that has uber-stylish decor on its wall and white chairs, all of which are a breath of fresh air from the usual surf decor present in most cafes here. Their spacious outdoor seating arrangement is pretty chic too, with pretty chairs and tables amongst white-washed walls – very Instagram-worthy, if you ask us.

As for the menu, there are plenty of delicious plant-based items to choose from, but in our opinion, the star dish here is their Avocado Toast. Freshly made every day, this gluten-free seeded bread comes topped with homemade guacamole, tomatoes, some balsamic, and sprouts – a very filling plate of deliciousness.

Among other healthy picks are their acai bowls that come with organic acai sorbet. For a sweet treat, go for the Caramel Apple Acai bowl, which comes with homemade vegan caramel sauce, apples, maple pecan topping, and a dollop of peanut butter. You certainly don’t have to be a vegan to appreciate the healthy yet mouth-watering food here!

Nutritious You also have a bunch of snacks, like the Spinach Tortilla Crackers or the Teriyaki Almonds, which are great to take along with you for a healthy snack on the beach. Open every day from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, this place is the perfect pitstop for a healthy, truly vegan meal (they’ve got some amazing vegan burgers too, so do try to drop by for lunch sometime!).

5. Dutch Valley

Dutch Valley may be known for their Broasted Chicken dinners and big, juicy burgers, but boy, do they whip up some great breakfast too!

Located in Sarasota, just a couple of miles away from the island, this little diner has been around for decades, dishing out generous portions of comforting, hearty meals.

The no-frills interior with humble booth seating is nothing fancy, which is kind of perfect for the simple yet delicious food served here. You won’t find any outdoor seating either, but there’s plenty indoors, where the atmosphere is inviting and homey for a relaxed, comfortable breakfast.

The expansive menu here is full of soul food favorites, like biscuits and gravy and egg benedicts. Their specialty, though (and our personal favorite) are the enormous waffles that are fluffy on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. We suggest opting for the good ol’ classic flavors that come with fresh strawberries on a heap of whipped cream, or the bacon/sausage doused with maple syrup and butter. What better way to start a day at the beach than to indulge in this sweet and savory treat?

If you want something eggy, you can’t go wrong with their Eggs Benedict Florentine, which comes with tomatoes, spinach, and a hearty portion of fries on the side. Wash it down with their freshly squeezed orange juice and you’ll feel like you just had a comforting breakfast at Grandma’s!

With dependably good food and great service, Dutch Valley is open every day from 7 am onwards, serving breakfast all day long to meet your breakfast-for-lunch needs.

6. Bonjour French Cafe

Want a taste of France? Head towards Bonjour Cafe in Siesta Key Village – a charming cafe that has delicious smells of baked goods wafting your way when you step inside it.

Within its interior, there’s an eclectic selection of French paintings and posters on the walls and a warm atmosphere with French music in the background, while the friendly staff makes you feel welcomed and pleasant. There’s also a handful of outdoor seating here, but the quaint two-story cafe has more than enough indoor seating for the busiest of hours.

As for the food, well, it’s safe to say that one bite into their freshly baked croissants will take you back to the quaint streets of France. Light, flaky, and buttery, this cafe certainly knows how to bake a croissant!

Meanwhile, their menu is chock-full of sweet and savory French dishes that can cure all of your a.m cravings. Take for example their Quiche Lorraine – a delectable french-style quiche made out of savory custard and bits of smoked bacon, ham, and lots of mozzarella cheese. Authentically French and absolutely délicieuse! You can also go for their crepes that come in a variety of flavors, though our favorite is the Strawberry Lemon because it offers the perfect balance of sweet and citrus.

While you’re at Bonjour Cafe, make sure you get the freshly squeezed orange juice, or better yet, their mimosas that are simply delightful to sip on within this French setting. Drop by any day between 7 am to 3 pm, and you’ll experience some of the best breakfast in Siesta Key.

7. Another Broken Egg Cafe

Another Broken Egg Cafe is one of America’s most loved breakfast chains, so if you happen to be in Siesta Key and are looking for a reliably good breakfast, you know where to go!

Despite plenty of comfortable indoor seating and a spacious, shaded patio with lots of tables, you’ll face a wait on most days. But things move fast here, and you’ll find it all worth the wait once you take a look at their menu.

From traditional favorites like biscuit and gravy to fancy Belgian waffles, they’ve got something for everyone here. A notable dish from their classics is the Huevos Rancheros – a chaotic, loaded plate of tortillas, eggs, beans, onions, chilies, and cheddar cheese, served with a side of salsa and sour cream. Pro tip: get an additional topping of chorizos to kick it up another notch.

Another highly recommended dish is their Chicken & Waffles which is prepared with crispy fried chicken tenders and drizzled with house-made chipotle honey.

If you want something sweet and are prepared to change the way you think about French toast, you should probably get the unique but fantastic Lemon Custard French Toast. Filled with tart lemon custard and topped with whipped cream, strawberries, and a drizzle of salted caramel, this dish is impressive.

There are plenty of other appetizing items too, like the Lobster and Brie Omelet or the seasonal Cookie Dough Waffle, so we won’t blame you if you can’t hold yourself back from ordering several dishes at once.

Located in Siesta Key Village and just a leisurely stroll away from Sunset Beach, Another Broken Egg Cafe is open every day from 7 am to 2 pm for breakfast and brunch.

8. Millie’s

If you’re willing to go the extra mile for some of the best breakfast in Siesta Key, visit Millie’s, located in Sarasota, just four miles away from the island.

Serving mouth-watering American breakfast and lunch for decades, Millie’s has a cult following of locals who swear by its top-class service and great food. You’ll find this place to be airy, sunny, and homey, with neat wooden tables, chandeliers, and some charming, old-fashioned decor and wallpaper in a tea room-like atmosphere.

What’s on the menu? Lots! From eggs to pancakes and hash browns to French toast, Millie’s has all the classics to cure your a.m cravings. Our go-to is the Western Omelet that is loaded with ham, peppers, onions, and cheese – so fluffy and flavorful! You also get a heaping amount of fries on the side, and you can never have too many fries, right?

If you want a bit of both sweet and savory, go for their Country Breakfast, which has waffles/pancakes (which are little clouds of perfection!) along with two eggs and some bacon/ham. Oh, and you get bottomless drinks here, so chug down as much coffee as you need to start your day!

Millie’s is open every day except for Mondays, from 7 am to 2.30 pm, serving breakfast all day long. On top of an unbeatable breakfast, Millie’s also has a friendly and fun wait staff, so we bet you’re going to thank yourself for giving this place a try!
