If you’ve read anything on Wandering our World before, you’ll know we love Bonaire.

This pretty little island has some of the world’s best snorkeling, the Caribbean’s quietest beaches, and the region’s friendliest locals.

It has some lovely stretches of coastline too!

Here’s what we believe are the six best beaches in Bonaire:

1. No Name Beach

No Name Beach (yep, that is its actual name) is on the uninhabited island of Klein Bonaire just off the coast of Bonaire.

The gorgeous white sand here is soft, the beach is pristine, and the water is crystal clear.

The water is warm and calm too, making it great for swimming and snorkeling. In fact bringing your snorkel is a must as the coral reef just off the beach is full of friendly colorful fish.

This place feels like a real paradise island, and remains unspoiled due to the fact its uninhabited and you have to take a water taxi to get there.

However, that also means it has no facilities and very little shade – so take a parasol and all the supplies you need! Although there are a couple of BBQ grills so you can enjoy a picnic in paradise.

2. Lac Bay

This pretty bay easily makes its way into our list of best beaches in Bonaire due to its pretty surroundings, chance to see sea turtles, experience mangroves, and shallow snorkeling!

The beach at Lac Bay is a nice stretch of sand, but what we really love is the sparkling turquoise water and the shallow snorkeling – with much of the water being no more than five feet in depth.

That gives you a great opportunity to spot sea turtles. Many of which feed on the mangroves that make up part of the bay.

There’s also usually a lovely breeze that blows across the beach, which is perfect for hot days.

The bay is a popular spot with windsurfers because of that, and there’s a few trendy beach bars where you can grab a cocktail and watch the windsurfers do their thing on the water.

3. Bachelor’s Beach

At low tide, Bachelor’s Beach is a pretty stretch of pristine sand bordered by a little 10 foot rock-face on one side, and by crystal clear Caribbean water on the other.

You’ll have to climb down some steps to get to the beach, but that also gives it a sense of privacy.

At high tide most of the beach is under water! But you can still climb down the steps to enter the water, akin to a swimming pool.

This transformation almost makes the beach feel like two completely different destinations.

4. Pink Beach

There’s a clue in the name, as Pink Beach has a pink hue to it!

That’s because it’s made up of the crushed shells of microscopic creatures called foraminifera, which are pinkish-red in color.

When the sun’s shining on the beach the color really comes out.

While the stretch of sand here is quite narrow, it’s usually quiet and a great place for a romantic walk along the water’s edge.

5. Te Amo Beach

On the subject of romance, any honeymooners on Bonaire should make their way to Te Amo Beach – aka ‘I Love You’ beach in English.

There’s a reason for the name too. This serene white sandy stretch of coastline is a dreamy place and perfect for picnics with your loved ones.

It’s also a great place for snorkeling, with shore-accessible coral reefs just a short swim from the beach.

Its tranquility is broken once in a while as it sits beside the airport.

However that does mean you get the surreal experience of watching planes land up close while swimming in the warm waters of the Caribbean.

6. Eden Beach

Sometimes you just want to go to the beach and completely relax. You want all the facilities, and if you’re thirsty, you want a cocktail to arrive by your sun lounger.

That’s why Eden Beach makes our list of best beaches in Bonaire.

The beach is owned by Eden Beach Resort, and for a small fee you can use the sun loungers and parasol, while also enjoying the facilities at the resort’s beach bar and restaurant – Spice Beach Club.

The actual beach is soft and warm, while the water is perfect for snorkeling as there’s a variety of colorful fish that live here. Sunbathe, snorkel, and a cocktail – bliss.
