1. The Hangout Gulf Shores

Large, family friendly establishment with an open-air design and direct beach access, great to celebrate occasions

The Hangout features a massive layout with plenty of tables and chairs inside, alongside picnic tables and stools right on the sand outside, making it a great spot to ‘hang out’ with a large group of friends.

The walls are also dotted with flatscreen TVs and colorful trinkets and memorabilia. Plus there are actually three separate bars in the outdoor seating area, the area we’re sure you’ll gravitate towards.

That outside area is also where you’ll find some great music being belted out on their large stage backed by views of the Gulf. What a place!

While this establishment operates mainly as a seafood specialty restaurant, it transforms in the evening into one of the most happening live music bars in Gulf Shores. In particular, make sure to visit in May when they host their annual Hangout Music Fest.

Apart from that, there’s plenty of entertainment options for people of all ages with bingo and trivia nights, foam pits, a giant sandbox, wishing wall and a giftshop.

Then savor one of their signature cocktails (we recommend the ‘Shark Attack’, which comes with coconut rum, blue curacao and pineapple juice) or stick to the classics, craft beer and wine. Wrap up a wonderful evening with some fresh seafood right from the coast.

Servers here are lively and friendly and will go out of their way to make any celebration more memorable. The Hangout has another outlet in Myrtle Beach too, and is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
